HARRISON SHEEHAN, profile and practice 

As a photographer, my experience includes work with institutions such as the International Center of Photography (ICP), Steven Klein Studio and Saturday Night Live.

While studying film at Pratt Institute, I had the opportunity to assist my professor and mentor, acclaimed filmmaker Eliza Hittman, with nontraditional casting on her second feature Beach Rats. I was also hired as a behind the scenes photographer by Cinereach, the film's production company. Explore a sampling of my BTS work here. And in a later surprise, I was invited to audition and earned the part of Jeremy making my feature film acting debut.

Beach Rats premiered in the U.S. Narrative competition at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and won best direction. The film opened to critical acclaim with one of the largest grosses per screen that year (in its first week). Among several awards and nominations, Beach Rats received the Casting Society of America’s Artios Award for Outstanding Achievement in Casting.

As a student filmmaker, my junior film Australia Day received the Steve Horn Award, Pratt’s most prestigious scholarship a School of Art student. You Look Good In Blue, my undergraduate thesis film, which I wrote, directed, edited, mixed and even color-graded on a budget of less than $1,500(!!!) made its premiere in the sold-out DARE shorts program at the 42nd Annual Frameline Film Festival. It's still making the rounds on the international queer film festival circuit.

My oeuvre demonstrates strong vision, passion, and unwavering commitment to the projects I initiate or join. Whatever my role, I offer technical proficiency in photography, almost fanatical attention to detail, confident leadership, daring vulnerability, and infectious exuberance. Don't I sound great?

Currently, I am working on several short films, writing my first feature-length film, casting, producing, occasionally acting, and freelancing with design firms and individual artistic/creative projects.
